breaking news
Slippery roads are being blamed for a gasoline spill that shut down a Chautauqua County highway for most of the day Friday.
It happened just before 10 AM on Route 60 in the town of Charlotte, New York.
According to state police ... the driver of a tractor trailer hauling 8500 gallons of gas lost control trying to avoid a car that had spun out of control.
The truck flipped on it`s side in a ditch, rupturing the tank and spilling an unknown amount of gasoline.
The driver of the truck suffered minor injuries and so did two firefighters who were splashed while cleaning the spill.
