Erie Man Arrested For Rape, Robbery

Following footprints in the snow led to the arrest of an Erie man, now charged with a number of crimes including rape and robbery. 19 year old Alfred Lee Ford of the 11 hundred block of East 9th Street was arraigned this afternoon and sent to the county prison. According to Erie police, Ford approached a woman while she walked to work this morning around 5:30. He allegedly pointed a gun at her and took her behind a nearby building near 9th and East Avenue and sexually assaulted and robbed her. She called police from a nearby Country Fair. Erie police followed footprints to Ford`s residence where he was arrested around 6:30 this morning. Besides the rape and robbery charges, ford is also charged with kidnapping, unlawful restraint firearm charges and receiving stolen property. Bail was set at 150 thousand dollars cash.
