Two Fatal Fires

Two fires in Erie County today killed two people. A 64-year-old Richard Hunt died in the 1000 block of East Main Street in Corry. The fire broke out around 1:00 p.m. When firefighters arrived on the scene, the home was engulfed in smoke. Once they were able to make their way inside, they found Hunt dead in the kitchen. Hunt lived with his 38-year-old daughter, Lisa. There`s no word on what caused the fire. Corry Police are working with state police to determine the cause of the fire. Heavy flames also claimed the life of a woman in Erie. Erie firefighters were called to 400 block of West Front Street at just after 2:00 this afternoon. They discovered flames shooting from the second story of the home. The unidentified woman was found unconscious on the floor. She was taken to Hamot Shock Trauma with severe burns to her head and back. Both fires are still under investigation.
