SeaWolves To Name Chris Cron New Manager

JET-TV, FOX 66 and YourErie.com has learned that former major leaguer Chris Cron will be named the new manager of the Erie SeaWolves this afternoon.
Cron will take over for Phil Nevin who was promoted to Triple-A Toledo when Larry Parrish accepted a job as the Atlanta Braves hitting coach.
SeaWolves team officials have confirmed that Cron will take over and that the Detroit Tigers will make it official today (Monday).
Cron spent a short time in the majors with the California Angels and the Chicago White Sox.  He then went on to manage in the White Sox minor league system.  He also has a stint in the Colorado Rockies organization at the AAA level.
Most recently, Cron managed the Great Falls (Montana) Voyagers--a rookie ball affiliate of the White Sox.
No press conference has been scheduled to introduce Cron.  He's the third different SeaWolves manager in three seasons (Brookens and Nevin).
