Finance Director Quits City Government

A shake-up at Erie City Hall. In a midst of a growing financial crisis over unpaid bills, Erie`s Finance Director has called it quits. Gary Peterson has submitted his resignation to Mayor Joe Sinnott. That resignation has been accepted. According to Sinnott, Peterson feels it`s time to do something else and was increasingly unhappy with the way he`s been treated in the wake of Erie`s latest money woes. Just yesterday, Peterson told City Council another 200-thousand dollars in unpaid bills from 2005 had been found, bringing the total debt from old unpaid bills to about one million. The search for a new finance director will begin immediately.
