Plans for a ferry operation from Erie-to-Port Dover, Ontario are sailing ahead; despite troubles on the Canadian side. The Erie Western Pennsylvania Port Authority still plans to buy a 49 passenger boat that would operate only during the summer. Original plans for a 46 car, 200 Passenger Ferry have been dry-docked because of funding problems in Port Dover. The new mayor says the project is not on his radar screen. Despite that, Erie Port Authority Director Ray Schreckengost said the bigger boat could still happen. Schreckengost says the 1.5 million dollars needed to buy the smaller boat has almost been raised.
