breaking news
Thats exactly what happened to a local mother. Maria Hayes says her ex-husband was in violation of a custody order when he removed their daughter from Central High School. She says not only did the school allow her daughter to leave without her permission, they also didn't notify her. Officials with the school district say its not their responsibility to deal with custody issues. They say if a student's records list both biological parents, its their obligation to treat the parents as equals. Hayes says shes hopes the district will revise their policy.
