RAINN Day at Edinboro University
Edinboro University joined over a thousand other colleges and universities in observing RAINN day this evening.
Students and advocates held a candlelight vigil to help raise awareness of sexual violence, which occurs every two minutes in the U.S.
The rape, abuse, and incest national network, or RAINN, held the event on the lawn behind the Frank G Pogue Center.
Participants shared their stories of sexual abuse, and lit candles to honor victims of sexual assault.
College age women are four times more likely to be victims of sexual assault than any other age group.
On campus services and support are available through the Crime Victim Center, Safe Journeys and SafeNet.
