Herman Lee Bowman, a heavy equipment operator at the compost site at the wastewater treatment facility, threatened to create a Virginia Tech style situation because he was upset with his boss. According to the police complaint, in a Wednesday morning meeting with Connie Cook, director of human resources for the city, Bowman said if his boss, "doesnt lay off him he was going to do what that guy in virginia did and then kill himself." Supervisors at the plant called for special police attention because of terrified employees. Bowman was arraigned Wednesday evening by Judge Sue Mack and was sent to county prison on $25,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 14th.
