Erie Waste Water Treatment Threats
We're learning a City of Erie employee is in the Erie County Prison is accused of making some serious threats.
Action News 24 obtained the criminal complaint from the incident, which says 51 year old Herman Lee Bowman -- who's a heavy equipment operator with the city- threatened to create a Virginia Tech Style situation at the Erie Waste Water Treatment Facility.
The report says the incident started because Bowman was upset with his boss for telling him to punch into work. The report continues to say that in a Wednesday morning meeting with City Human Resources Director Connie Cook, Bowman told her that if his boss "doesn't lay off him he was going to do what that guy in Virginia did and then kill himself." During that meeting cook says Bowman was visibly upset appeared to be crying, his hands were shaking and his lips were quivering.
We asked to talk to the City Human Resources director on-camera about the event but that request was denied she say the situation is a personnel issue and no one in the City of Erie would be able to speak about an ongoing investigation.
That's the same answer we got from Erie Police and the Erie City Solicitors Office.
We can tell you supervisors at the Erie Waste Water Treatment Facility called for special police attention because of terrified employees.
Bowman was arrested and arraigned Wednesday evening in front of Judge Sue Mack on a charge of terroristic threats and was sent to the Erie County Prison on 25 thousand dollars bond.
