Girard Man Charged With Killing 5 Month Old Child

A GIRARD MAN IS IN THE ERIE COUNTY PRISON, CHARGED WITH KILLING A 5 MONTH OLD LAKE CITY INFANT MORE THAN 10 YEARS AGO. 31 YEAR OLD MARION PARSONS OF THE 11 THOUSAND BLOCK OF CROSS STATION ROAD WAS ARRAIGNED SATURDAY NIGHT IN FRONT OF DISTRICT JUDGE PAUL MANZI. PARSONS IS CHARGED IN THE DEATH OF MERCEDES FRIEND, WHO LIVED IN THE CHERRY STREET APARTMENTS IN LAKE CITY AT THE TIME OF HER DEATH. PARSONS WAS REPORTEDLY WATCHING THE CHILD ON DECEMBER 31ST 1995. THE CHILD DIED THE NEXT DAY AT CHILDREN`S HOSPITAL IN PITTSBURGH AFTER A DECADE LONG INVESTIGATION, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE CHILD DIED OF HEAD INJURIES...THE CRIMINAL COMPLAINT DESCRIBES IT AS "ADULT INDUCED TRAUMA" PARSONS HAS BEEN CHARGED WITH CRIMINAL HOMICIDE.
