Honorable Mention for Erie Firefighters

watch video
The Erie Fire department has said for months that residents should check their smoke detector every year. Now the department is getting national attention for getting the word out. Firehouse Magazine has awarded the City of Erie with an honorable mention for its smoke detector initiatives. Fire personnel have preached for months that smoke detectors should be installed on every level of your home, including the basement. They've also told the public if anyone needs a detector, they can get one at the city's fire garage on marsh street at no charge
