Homicide Investigation

Law enforcement officials say a March fire which killed an Erie man is now being investigated as a homicide.
56-year old Richard Dunston was found dead inside his Front Street home on March 21st. The Erie Fire Departments now say it was no accident.
Members of the Erie Police and Fire departments along with the District Attorney's office are now looking for a person or persons responsible for this crime. The fire was reported at Dunston's home at 337 E. Front street at about 12:45 A.M.. Police and fire crews arrived to find thick smoke and flames in the front of the home.
Erie Police along with Pennsylvania State Police fire investigators and and an accelerant sniffing dog spent hours after the incident looking for clues.
Investigators reportedly found signs that an accelerant was used to start the fatal fire. Samples from the house have been sent to a lab for further testing.
Tuesday, officials say the investigation is moving forward and they have interviewed several people of interest.
