DonationsThe Erie County Crop Recognition Luncheon was held Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church on Peach Street. Approximately 90 people attended. In total, $18,000 was donated to 26 different local food pantry's. The funds came from the 2006 Walk. In all, over $75,700.00 was raised from the walk to reach out in partnership to the poor and hungry people in Erie and in more than 80 countries around the world. Tuesday's donation was twenty-five percent of the total funds collected from the 2006 CROP Walk. Approximately, 2,000 CROP Walks are held each year throughout the United States. This year's walk will be held on September 23rd at Presque Isle. For more information you can log onto www.churchworldservice.org.
