A person of interest in the pizza bomber case will not be released on bail. Monday's Erie Times-News reports that Kenneth Barnes will remain in the Erie County Prison, despite being eligible for parole since February 23. Barnes is serving a sentence on cocaine-related charges. Reasons why parole is not granted are kept confidential by the judge who makes the decision. Like all prisoners, Barnes has no guarantee of parole. No one has commented on whether the decision has to do with the FBI's investigation into the pizza bomber case or whether the FBI considers Barnes a flight risk. Barnes will remain in prison until his maximum sentence is reached on February 8, 2008.
