Cambridge Springs Bomb Scare
A bomb scare at Cambridge Springs Elementary school forced an early dismissal for hundreds of students and put local authorities on high alert. Authorities found what they believe was pipe bomb left in a truck parked in front of the school.
According to officials, it appears a Cambridge Springs Elementary student found a small obscure - 6 inch metal pipe, near his house Monday. The student gave that pipe to his parents. We're told his father apparently decided to bring the device to school Tuesday and alert authorities. Obviously, emergency officials were not happy with the parent’s decision to bring the device to a populated school.
School officials after alerting the Pennsylvania State Police and the bomb squad decided to evacuate Cambridge Springs Junior-Senior High as well as the elementary school. Classes were dismissed around 10:30 and students were sent home.
The bomb squad removed the suspected pipe bomb from a truck and blew it up in a nearby baseball field. Many people were affected by these disturbing events. The contents of the pipe are now the way Washington D.C. for further testing. That's where it will be determine if the device was an active bomb.
