Edinboro University Strike???

watch video
Edinboro University faculty may have an extra long break this summer if they do not come to terms on a new contract.

The faculty union representing the state's 14 state owned universities has authorized the use of a strike.

They have until the end of June to reach an agreement with the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. If they don't reach an agreement, a strike could begin on
July 1, which would mean the cancellation of summer classes.

Union representatives say contract talks so far have been minimal, with the main discrepancies being made over salary and benefits. The two groups are scheduled to meet in Harrisburg in the coming days.
