Judge Issues Order in Beeman Case
A federal judge issues an order today that's good news for County Councilman Ebert Beeman.
Earlier this week, Beeman and his attorney submitted tax documents to the U.S. District Court.
Beeman believes those documents back up his claim that he owes the I.R.S. about $110,000, not the $2.1m judgment entered against him.
In his order, Federal Judge Sean Mclaughlin says Beeman's submissions to the court "do raise at least a substantial issue", referring to the amount Beeman owes.
Beeman is hoping this will help him hold on to his Waterford properties which were seized by the I.R.S.
