Retirement savings

Retirement There could be a new way for workers to save for retirement. Representative Phil English announced Friday that he is co-sponsoring the automatic IRA Act. The act would require employers without retirement plans to set up individual retirement accounts for their workers. English said the act would work with social security to encourage retirement savings. Workers would be able to opt out of the program. The AARP said they support the act and will encourage participation. The organization said only half of the 150 million paid workers in the United States have some kind of employer-supported retirement plan.
