PromHundreds of teens will be going to the prom this year. Thanks to the Prom Project.

The program was started by foster kids on the family services youth advisory board. The goal was to provide kids who couldn't afford new dresses and tuxes with donated attire.

So far, 795 dresses have been collected, as well as more than 900 dollars cash and close to 700 dollars in gift certificates.

In addition, The Academy of Cosmetology is offering free hair appointments to the foster kids and Andy's Pub is serving free meals.

Debbe Linendoll with family services says the teens are overwhelmed by the outpouring of support. Officials are hoping to continue the prom project for other dances like Homecoming and Christmas formals.
