Filippi Found NOT GUILTY

A Washington County jury has found former Erie Mayor Rick Filippi not guilty on all charges in his public corruption trial. The jury also found the mayor`s business partners Attorney Eric Purchase of Erie and Attorney Rolf Patberg of Pittsburgh, not guilty. The trio was charged by the state with using the influence, power and inside information of then Mayor Filippi`s office to purchase land around the former International Paper Co plant site. That was a site under consideration by MTR Gaming for a casino and horse racing track. More details later.
