Wattsburg Teachers Will Not Strike
After a six and a half hour meeting behind closed doors, Wattsburg Area School District teachers decided they will not be going on strike Wednesday morning. T
The Wattsburg Education Association and the Wattsburg Area School District reached a tentative agreement on teacher contracts around 1:30 am Wednesday morning.
The two main issues discussed were retro-activity on salary and health care. Officials say both topics were touched upon during the midnight session but neither side will discuss the specifics of the agreement until its set in stone and discussed by both parties full boards.
All classes remain canceled for Wednesday morning which means the Wattsburgs school year will be extended by one day.
