St. Vincent Evacuation

Tense moments Monday for dozens of Saint Vincent medical workers as smoke filled their downtown office building.

Around 1 O'clock Monday afternoon, Erie Firefighters evacuated the medical complex located at 19-th and Sassafrass Streets.

Employees told emergency officials that smoke filled the ground floor and had a paper-like smell to it; however, no one could identify a source.

The Erie Fire Department came in to investigate and evacuated employees for more than an hour. Firefighters are still trying to determine an exact cause.
No one was hurt in the incident.
