An alleged hit and run in Millcreek leads to a second accident that leaves one man pinned underneath his vehicle.

Shortly after 8 Monday evening, an SUV was traveling on West 26th Street when the driver struck a sedan and then kept going at a high rate of speed.

That's according to the driver of the car that was hit.

The driver of the SUV then reportedly turned onto Wegman's Drive but lost control on a curve in the road and ran head-on into an oncoming mini-van.

The force of the second impact caused the driver of the SUV to be partially ejected from his vehicle and pinned underneath it.

Firefighters used a Hurst tool, air bags, and winches to free the man who was taken to UPMC Hamot in unknown condition.

The driver of the mini-van was not seriously hurt.
