The man who lost his wife in a 2011 boat explosion is suing the Erie Yacht Club and the owners of the boat in Erie County Court.

Ryan Carlisle's 25 year old wife Erin was killed when a boat owned by Aaron Hertel and Michael Brown exploded moments after fueling up at the Erie Yacht Club on Memorial Day in 2011.

Officials ruled the explosion an accident.

Carlisle, acting as the administrator for his late wife's estate, still works as a physical therapist for Hertel and Brown.

According to court documents, Carlisle is suing for negligence and wrongful death among other counts.

Carlisle and his wife, Brown, Hertel and his 2 year old son were blown from the boat when it exploded.

Parties being sued have 20 days to respond.
