Past Present And Future of Saint Peter Cathedral

watch video

A lot of changes for in store for Saint Peter Cathedral... Starting with Bishop Elect Lawrence Persico's installation tomorrow...

Tomorrow may mark the end of Bishop Donald Trautman's role, serving our parish and community... But he's paving a path for Bishop Elect Lawrence Persico... Who is eager to fill Bishop Trautman's shoes.

It's been bittersweet for Bishop Donald Trautman... Who has been serving the Erie community for the past 22 years...

It was always his goal to keep the catholic family together... He tells us, he believes he accomplished that.

But it's time that he lays the groundwork down for a new bishop... Bishop Elect Lawrence Persico, who's looking forward to his installation Monday.

Bishop Elect Persico has spent 31 years as a priest in Greensburg...he got a call one morning from Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano, telling him that the holy father has appointed him the Archbishop of Erie.

Bishop Trautman tells us he will still be bishop-functioning...and wants Bishop Elect Persico to know he will always be there for support, and help.

But the message will continue to remain the same for parishioners who want to practice their faith at Saint Peter Cathedral.

Be sure to stick with JET 24 tomorrow...

We will be providing live, exclusive coverage of the new bishop's ordination....

That's going to be at 2 pm from Saint Peter Cathedral.
