PennDOT Prepares for Winter Conditions

watch video

With the warmth of summer still in the air, PennDOT has started preparing for this year's winter.

During this time every year, PennDOT begins preparing for the cold weather by shutting down all summer and mounting up their trucks.

With last year's winter being so mild...officials say they have more than enough salt to get them started once the snow starts falling...

PennDOT's primary focus will be interstates and expressways. PennDOT will continue to treat and clear roadways until all paths are clear.

PennDOT will be officially prepared for this winter November first.

As the winter weather returns, PennDOT reminds all drivers to be cautious while traveling in harsh conditions and make plans accordingly.
