October 2, 2012--Millcreek Police are working with the Erie County District Attorney to determine if charges will be filed against the driver in a fatal motorcycle accident last week.

The accident happened last Tuesday at the intersection of West 26th Street and Zuck Road in Millcreek.

According to Millcreek police a West County Paramedics Association transport van driven by 24 year old John Semai of Albion turned left in front of a motorcycle operated by 46 year old Daniel Whiteman of Millcreek.

The motorcycle collided with the side of the van, throwing Whiteman to the roadway.

Whiteman was treated at UPMC Hamot for multiple injuries, he was pronounced dead Monday afternoon.

Semai has multiple prior offenses on his driving record including speeding, driving an unregistered vehicle and failing to use a seat belt.

We asked West County Paramedics about this and they had no comment.

Investigators say charges could be filed as early as today.

Comments

I wonder if West County Paramedics did a background check on him. Drivers with records should not be hired to drive.
