Judge Decides To Postpone Voter ID Law

October 2, 2012 - With just 5 weeks until Election Day, a Pennsylvania judge has postponed Pennsylvania's controversial new law requiring voters to show photo identification to vote.

If this decision by Commonwealth Court Judge Robert Simpson holds as the final decision, this highly debated law will not take effect for the November presidential election.

Proponents of the new law say it would prevent voter fraud, but opponents argue that there have been almost no instances of fraud and they say the real intent of the law is to suppress Democratic votes.

Pennsylvania's valuable 20 electoral votes, the 6th most in the US, are up for grabs.
