Voter ID Law Postponed

October 2, 2012 - There are 35 days until Election Day, and today, a Commonwealth Court Judge has ruled on the controversial voter identification bill.

Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court Judge Robert Simpson has postponed Pennsylvania's new law requiring voters to show photo identification to vote.

If this decision stands, this highly debated law will not be effective for the upcoming election.

It would be valid in 2013.

Officials from the Democratic Party here in Erie are pleased with the judge's decision.

Republican officials in Erie say they agree with the decision to gradually phase into the law.

Governor Tom Corbett released a statement today that says he's pleased with the judge's decision.

He also went on to say, "While we believe we have made it possible for every registered voter who needs voter identification to obtain one, we'll continue our efforts for the next election and all future elections, to make sure every registered voter has the proper identification in an effort to preserve the integrity of our voting process in Pennsylvania."

Rather than focus on meaningful legislation like property tax reform, the right to vote on school tax increases, reducing the size of the state legislature, etc, etc, our local state political hacks are only concerned about milking the taxpayers for as much as they can! They only care about being in office as long as possible and will resort to the kind of tactics which we have just witnessed!! State reps like Curt Sonny will even resort to crying "voter fraud" as a means to stay in office! IT'S TIME FOR THESE POLITICAL HACKS TO GO!!!
