watch video

October 3, 2012 - A group speaking out against animal abuse stopped in Erie today with a message for Wal-Mart.

The Mercy for Animals organization spent the morning protesting and raising awareness for animal cruelty outside the east side Wal-Mart.

The group specifically called out Wal-Mart for reportedly housing pregnant pigs in narrow gestation crates.

The Mercy for Animals organization is asking Wal-Mart executives to phase out the gestation crates.

Mercy for Animals conducted an investigation at several factories concluding that every other major food distributor has phased out the gestational crates.
