Police Respond To Shooting On Erie's West Side

    October 10, 2012 - Two Erie men are in custody and another injured after a shooting during broad daylight on the city's west side.

The two twenty year old men have been identified as Darrian Beasley and Tymeen Williams with Williams being  identified as the alleged gunman.
    Erie police say both men will face charges including attempted homicide and aggravated assault.They're currently being held at City Hall awaiting arraignment.

    Erie police responded to a shooting in the 400 block of West 8th Street where the shooting reportedly happened in the driveway.

    The two suspects fled on foot.

    The victim, who has not yet been identified, made his way back to an apartment in the 300 block of West 7th Street.

    EmergyCare transported him to UPMC Hamot where he was in surgery this afternoon for a gun shot wound in the abdomen.

    Erie police remained in the area, searching for the two suspects.

    After a short foot pursuit the two were taken into custody in the 400 block of West 9th Street.

"We had some unmarked units in the area that were instrumental in observing the suspects and once they were fleshed out, there were several units involved and running him down and making a quick apprehension," said Deputy Chief Randy Bowers, Erie Police Department.

    No word on what led to the shooting or whether or not there was an altercation or robbery that happened before hand.

    Police found a weapon in a bush outside an apartment complex on West 9th Street.

    They believe it was the weapon that was used this morning.
