Drownings in Waterford Twp

 Two-young girls are dead from an apparent drowning in Waterford Township.

Pennsylvania State Police say 2-year-old Maggie Kovski and 18-month-old Jenna Walker apparently wandered into a back yard pond of a home located at 12333 Sharp Road.

State Police say the two girls were pulled from the water sometime around eleven o'clock this morning.

An 18-year old babysitter was watching the children at the 18-month old's home at the time of the incident. Police say both parents were out or at work at the time of the accident.

The babysitter found the girls and called 911, no word on how long the two children were in the water.

They both died in the emergency room at Hamot Medical Center. 


The invesitigation into what happend is continuing.   Action News 24 will have the very latest as new information becomes available.
