November 1, 2012 - A man accused of the theft of hundreds of thousands of dollars from the Edinboro Beverage Distributor waived his preliminary hearing today.
Sixty year old Robert Stablein appeared before District Judge Denise Stuck Lewis at 10:00 this morning, and waived his right to a preliminary hearing.
The matter will now proceed to the Erie Court of Common Pleas.
The total amount allegedly taken could approach a million dollars or more. Stablein was a manager at the distributorship for more than a decade.
District Attorney Jack Daneri indicated a thorough forensic audit of the company's books needs to be completed to facilitate prosecution.
