Edinboro Man Waives Preliminary Hearing For Theft Case
November 1, 2012--The man charged
with nine felony counts in connection with the theft of more than half a
million dollars from an Edinboro business waived his right to a preliminary
hearing today.
Robert Stablein of Edinboro was
charged with alleged thefts from the Edinboro Beverage Distributor back in September.
Stablein is a former employee of the
distributor.
According to sources close to the
investigation, Stablein converted hundreds of thousands of dollars slated for
deposit to the business bank account to his own use.
The charges come after nearly a year
of investigation by the Edinboro Police Department.
Due to the
vast amount of records and paperwork in the case accountants will continue to
be used in collecting evidence.
Stablein
faces three counts of theft by unlawful taking, three counts of receiving
stolen property and three counts of failure to make required dispositions of
funds.
Stablein is free on a $50,000 unsecured bond.
