Discussing Politics In The Workplace

watch video
Chances are, Tuesday's election was the talk around the water cooler. Those who's candidates won were happy and may have have been gloating, while others did not want to hear about the outcome, but may have been forced to by a co-worker.

Experts say talking politics at work, especially after a heated and emotional election, does not make for a healthy workplace environment.

Marco Monsalve is CEO of Mcmanis & Monsalve, a risk analysis and litigation company. He says his experience dictates that talking politics in the office is a not a good idea. Monsalve says looking at it from a business consultant's eyes, it's not appropriate and can create divisiveness in the office.

As far as business owners go, many are worried that their customers can be alienated if associates choose one side or another.

No discussion of Religion OR Politics should be discussed at ANY workplace...that way it leaves everyone calm and cool, and not show any type of making anyone uncomfortable!
