Four Banks Robbed in Two Days
(November 9, 2012) Four area banks have been robbed in just two days. Erie police were called to Erie Bank at W. 10th & Peach streets just after 9:00am, Thursday. That was the first incident.
Then at 2:15, the First National branch on East Grandview was hit.
In both cases the robber handed a note to a teller demanding money.
Earlier in the day, at 11 AM the Huntington Bank branch in Conneaut Ohio was robbed by a white man of medium build with a scruffy beard and glasses.
Today, at about 10:30 AM a man robbed the PNC Branch at West Gore and Peach Streets. Again, the robber handed a note to the teller, and left the bank with cash.
In each case the suspect is described as a white man, with facial hair. In the Conneaut robbery the man is wearing glasses and has "very obvious blue eyes".
Police in both Ohio and Pennsylvania are working to determine if the robberies are connected.
