watch video

NOVEMBER 12, 2012- The American flags that beautify the city bridges were taken down for the season today.

20 volunteers from the Flag Brigade removed more than 1 thousand American flags on bridges across the area.

Some of the volunteers are Military veterans.

The flags are being taken down today because Veterans Day was celebrated yesterday...

Organizers say it's easier to remove the flags now before the weather gets bad.

Members of the Flag Brigade plan to put up more than 4 thousand flags this spring.

The flags are being donated from cemeteries across the area.
