11/13/12

In the wake of the election ... The New York Times' David Brooks comes to Erie with his thoughts on the future of the country...

The nationally syndicated columnist and media figure packing the house to kick off this year's Global Summit...

David Brooks tells us right before coming to Erie he actually had an interview with the president... He tells us in 2008 Obama was all about change, and now, Brooks says he's becoming more negative, which could hurt him.

The nationally syndicated columnist says the looming question now is, is the fiscal cliff unavoidable for Americans?

Brooks explains most businesses were pulling for Romney...and that was clear when the DOW Jones dropped more than 300 points one day after the president was re-elected.

Among the packed house ... Doctor David Kozak, political science professor at GannonUniversity who tells us Obama has to avoid those second term blues.

Brooks says if you look at Obama now compared to who he was in 2008... You'll notice a drastic change, he's become tougher.

But some say if the Republicans want control back in 2016, they have to widen their appeal.

Brooks says he wasn't surprised by the outcome of the election, but he was surprised by PA... It's normally a Democratic state, but he thought this year it would be red.

The Global Summit continues tomorrow with Reverend Barry Lynn and Political Strategist Karl Rove.
