Group Holds Blanket Drive for Homeless

NOVEMBER 17, 2012- One local group is hoping to blanket the homeless from blizzards this wintry season.

The Upper Room Daytime Shelter supported by St. Paul's and St.  Patrick churches hosted Blizzard of Blankets today.

The 17th annual blanket drive in Perry Square gave the public a chance to donate blankets to the less fortunate.

The event was also part of National Homelessness Awareness week.

Donations will also be accepted year round at St. Paul's United Church of Christ at 1024 Peach Street.
