Christmas Carol of Protest Delivered to Congressman Kelly
Keystone Progress believes Republicans in Congress are holding the middle class hostage to tax cuts for the wealthiest 2 percent of Americans. The Senate has already passed legislation to keep middle class taxes from rising, and it's time for the House of Representatives to act.
Protestors claim the nation simply cannot afford to double down on tax cuts for the
super-rich that will cost the rest of us $1 trillion. If we spend that money on
tax cuts for the wealthy, we will not be able to provide the basic building
blocks of opportunity to that make it possible for average, working people to
get ahead: better schools, services for veterans returning home, affordable
college education; investments in science, health research and technology to
spur innovation and create jobs.
