Christmas Carol of Protest Delivered to Congressman Kelly

watch video
December 3, 2012 -  A few activists went to Congressman Mike Kelly's offices to deliver a copy of the classic Christmas story, "A Christmas Carol," to send a clear message: put the middle class ahead of millionaires and end tax breaks for the top 2%.   The event was organized by the group Keystone Progress.

Keystone Progress believes Republicans in Congress are holding the middle class hostage to tax cuts for the wealthiest 2 percent of Americans. The Senate has already passed legislation to keep middle class taxes from rising, and it's time for the House of Representatives to act.

Protestors claim the nation simply cannot afford to double down on tax cuts for the super-rich that will cost the rest of us $1 trillion. If we spend that money on tax cuts for the wealthy, we will not be able to provide the basic building blocks of opportunity to that make it possible for average, working people to get ahead: better schools, services for veterans returning home, affordable college education; investments in science, health research and technology to spur innovation and create jobs.

According to an article in the Washington Post our renown congressman made between 11 and 30 million dollars when he sold his wife's marcellus shale gas rights to Exon-Mobile!! Prior to the sale he lobbied extensively for relaxed regulations and for other government incentives to promote drilling for marcellus shale gas!! He is a washed up Tea Party reject and a mulitimillionare-do you really expect him to do anything for the middle class!! I DIDN'T THINK SO!!!
