United States Supreme Court to take on Same Sex Marriage
DECEMBER 8, 2012- On the heels of three states approving same sex marriage,
the United States Supreme Court is expected to take on the issue this coming March.
Erin Moll and Amy Terrizzi of
"We want to be together and start a family and just live a normal
life," says Erin Moll.
Upon
the Supreme Court's decision, the DOMA Act that only recognizes marriage between
a man and a woman could become null and void...
And Prop 8 in
"Our marriage could become legal... it brings tears to my
eyes.... why shouldn't our marriage be legal?" Says Moll.
Right now, Amy and Erin would have to file separate
taxes, separate health care and much more...
"If we have to adopt a child we would have to save up
personal days because out marriage isn't recognized," Says Terrizzi.
There are about 120,000 legally married same sex couples... Amy and Erin hope their marriage will count
and they can get the blessing they deserve...
"It's not a
choice.. It's who we are and we love each other and it's all about love,"
says Moll.
This case will head to the Supreme Court in March.
A decision could be made as soon as June 29th.
