Busiest Day for FedEx

watch video
December 10th, 2012

With more people online shopping for gifts this holiday season, it's naturally an extremely busy day for FedEx crews.

With Christmas being a little more than two weeks away, officials at FedEx tell us today is by far the busiest day in FedEx Grounds history.

It's not quite Santa's sleigh, but it definitely gets the job done.

December 10th is not only the company's busiest day ever for shipping, but FedEx says the next two weeks will be hectic.

FedEx is expected to ship out over 19 million packages today. And just compare that to where they were ten years ago, only shipping out three million packages.

This is peek season for FedEx.

More and more people are resorting to shopping online.

And all of those orders that people have been making are now coming through, and FedEx employees have to load up their vehicles and get to work.

If for some reason the package isn't delivered on time, shipping will be free for those customers.

But again this is an all day process, some truck loaders even starting as early as three this morning.
