    Hefty damage was left behind after a driver smashed his car into a building on Erie's east side.
    Shortly after 2 o'clock this morning, Erie police and fire crews were called to 601 East 24th street for a car into the front of Serafin's Food Market.
    According to Erie police, the driver lost control and struck the building.
    The driver was not injured, but the building suffered moderate damage.
    Police are investigating.
