Surprise Soldier Homecoming

After being away from his family for ten months... One local soldier makes a surprise visit to his children's schools, giving them the best Christmas gift they could've ever asked for.

    Mastered Arms First Class in the U.S. Navy Robert Treiber wasn't supposed to return home from Afghanistan until mid-January... But when he found out he could return earlier...surprising his kids seemed like the right thing to do.

For the Treiber family... Their mission was accomplished.

    MA 1 Robert Treiber returned home safe and sound after spending the last ten months serving our country in Afghanistan...

    His wife, Cyndi tells us when she saw her husband for the first time she didn't want to stop looking at him.

    Cyndi says their family has been through 8 deployments and this one was the hardest, and the most dangerous.

    So together, Robert and Cyndi wanted to make this trip home one their kids would remember.

    Treiber made his first stop to Cathedral Prep, where his son RJ goes to school...and when RJ saw his father for the first time, he couldn't stop hugging him.

    The family then shocked daughter Abby at Walnut Creek elementary school... She had asked Santa for her father home for Christmas, her jaw literally dropped when she got her wish, as she ran and jumped into his arms.
