Snow Causes Travel Headaches

    DECEMBER 26, 2012-  The Erie International Airport is at a stand still as Mother Nature dumps snow on Erie...    

    On the heels of a peaceful Christmas, holiday travelers are forced to find alternate means of transportation.  

"It was really bad in Orlando... And had to fly to Cleveland and flight cancelled to Erie," Maria Diaz  

    Diaz had to drive from Cleveland to Erie and Erie to New York.... after her flights were cancelled.

"I can't be at my house right now and that's the worst part," says Diaz.

    And Lauren Stingle who was in Erie visiting her boyfriend's family says she's worried about catching her flight back to Southern California...

"Hopefully my flight doesn't get cancelled... A lot of cancellations..."

Airport officials tell us they will be working around the clock to keep the runways clear....

"This morning we had equipment adjusted...  And a state of readiness at all times," says Rick Robie of ErieInternationalAirport.

    Robie says regardless of cancellations, runways will be clear.

"We operate a lot different than streets do...  Assume as we have any accumulation brooms remove it and that's what brooms are doing," says Robie.

    Airport officials urge anyone flying in or out of Erie International to call airline providers and to also check ErieAirport.org for cancellations.
