Facebook Page Slanders Teens

Cyber bullying takes on a whole new meaning in our area with a Facebook page called Erie On Blast...

The site rips apart and severely bullies grade school and high school students...even including their pictures...

If you look on the site now, you'll notice all of the pictures have been taken down.

The girls we spoke with sent us pictures of what was said on the site, and the words and comments were so vulgar we can't even show them on the air.

When Monique Clevinger got a phone call Friday saying she was featured on a Facebook page Erie On Blast...she was immediately worried.

After logging onto Facebook, she saw her picture and a caption on this site... Which attacks and torments young men and women.

Clevinger says the hurtful comments stung...part of what was said about her included her son, William...Which said in part,

"She things she's a model but she's on food stamps. Her baby's daddy doesn't care about her or her kid; she's a drama queen loser with no job."

But there's also another site that was created, called Erie Off Blast... Which is the complete opposite. It praises teens for being beautiful, or smart, or funny.

Alyssa Ball also knows people featured on Erie On Blast. She says what's being said about them couldn't be further from the truth.

Maggie McGuire tells us no one can figure out who started this.. But she thinks it has to involve more than one person.

The girls explain how cyber bullying is the worst form of bullying... Because you don't know where it's coming from.

Clevinger says just because she's strong about it, doesn't mean someone else will be.

Like you heard at this point no one knows who started the site...

The girls we talked to tell us there were kids as young as eight being tortured on the page. We're told there was also a Meadville, Corry and Titusville on blast.

Captain M. that is totally uncalled for and totally untrue. We have a lot of very good kids in Erie, and it's a shame that there are a few that make the majority look bad. Erie is not a dumpster, it is a good place to live. I don't know where you are from, but I think maybe you should learn some of the compassion you speak of.

Giving them a lot of coverage WIL only make them feel stronger, you know, that 15 mins. of fame thing? Maybe that is what they want? People who do this are evil, hiding behind a screen, saying and showing terrible things...there IS a way the Police CAN find them, and they WILL...

This is all too typical of the trash kids in NW PA and Erie. Your punk loser kids and their criminal cyberbullying are only steps away from real criminal violence. And the trash parents who have failed miserably in their duty to raise loving and compassionate children are just as much to blame. But then what do you expect from dumpster Erie?

This is so sad! Kids do not understand that cyber bullying can be extremely hurtful. Once someone takes their life over these rude and inappropriate comments and just all around hurtful site, i hope they catch the person who is proud of the page they created! AND most of all, if it gets to the point where someone will end their life over the comments made about them on the page, i hope the creator will get murder charges and have to deal with the consequences! This needs to be ended ASAP! I hope the person who created this page is seeing what this page has done and how it will be ended. The pictures are taken down but you are still naming people and you will be surprised how easy it will be for the authorities to figure out who made the page. This will come to an end! To those young children who are on it, know that people do not believe what they are reading and keep your head high and continue to smile! Always remember that peoples words may hurt but the people that matter know the truth and know you are all beautiful people! Like Dr. Suess said... People who mind don't matter and people who matter don't mind! :)
