January 3, 2012

The Erie County Prison is under review... As two consultants from the National Institute of Corrections will be beginning an independent study starting next week...

County Executive Barry Grossman tells us in light of everything that has happened at the Erie County Prison...a study of its operations was in order.

They've had problems with seven of their corrections officers...two former guards who faced time behind bars due to an inmate beating...

And recently...two employees were terminated from their jobs stemming from fraudulent time keeping and other offenses at the prison.

The County Executive says having this review done by two consultants of the National Institute of Corrections can help restore the faith in the prison and its system.

The County Executive says they're not looking to cover anything up...they want accurate reflections on every aspect, and he hopes this organization will do that.

This service won't cost taxpayers a dime...the two consultants will be reviewing the prison January 7-9 and officials will receive a review two weeks later.

Comments

Just like County Executive Barry Grossman stated, he WANTS to know what's going on out there and get it taken care of the right way!! I think more than time-keeping was going on out there, hopefully, they WILL find out!
