Orthodox Church Celebrates Christmas

January 7th, 2013

Today is Christmas Day for Christians of the Orthodox faith.

A special Christmas Day liturgy was held this morning at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church on East Avenue in Erie.

Dozens of parishioners turned out for the religious celebration.

It is believed Christmas Day is a day to heal the soul.

Orthodox churches follow the Julian Calendar and celebrate the birth of Christ on January 7th.

Merry Christmas to all of our orthodox friends today.
