January 9th, 2013

Wintertime brings more than just the dangers of flu season.

Slips and falls often go hand in hand with ice and snow.

Doctor Kim Gladden, an orthopedic expert at Cleveland Clinic, says it's important to take proper precautions in slippery weather.

According to the CDC, one in three adults over age 65 fall every year and 95 percent of hip fractures are caused by falls.

Doctor Gladden recommends seeing a doctor immediately if you fall and the injury is extremely painful, very swollen, or has a lot of discoloration.
